Air Fryer Calamari
Air Fryer Calamar
Ingredients:
- 1 pound calamari rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- Vegetable oil spray
Instructions:
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture, coating them evenly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg.
- Dip the calamari rings in the egg, then in the panko bread crumbs.
- Coat the calamari rings evenly with the bread crumbs.
- Place the calamari rings in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Spray the calamari rings with vegetable oil.
- Air fry for 5-7 minutes, or until the calamari rings are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the calamari rings from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Tips:
- You can add other seasonings to the flour mixture, such as Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or onion powder.
- You can serve the calamari rings with your favourite dipping sauce, such as marinara sauce, cocktail sauce, or lemon aioli.
- If you don't have an air fryer, you can bake the calamari rings in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes.
