Ingredients:
For the Biscuit Crumble Pastry:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup milk
For the Air Fryer Tofu:
- 1 (14-16 ounce) block extra-firm tofu, pressed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce or tamari
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions:
Make the Biscuit Crumble Pastry:
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add the milk, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- On a lightly floured surface,1 gently roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness.
- Use a 10cm (4-inch) round cookie cutter to cut out circles.
- Press each circle into a muffin tin to form a cup.
Prepare the Tofu:
- Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes.
- In a bowl, toss the tofu with olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and toss to coat.
Assemble and Air Fry:
- Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
- Divide the tofu evenly among the biscuit crumble cups.
- Air fry for 15-20 minutes, or until the tofu is golden brown and the biscuit cups are cooked through.
