Eat Well Recipe: Chlorophyll-Infused Water with Mint & Lime [Beverage]

Chlorophyll-Infused Water with Mint & Lime [

This vibrant, refreshing drink is more than just a trend; it is a powerful tool for hydration and metabolic health.1 Liquid chlorophyll is often derived from alfalfa or mulberry leaves and provides a concentrated dose of antioxidants.2

Chlorophyll-Infused Water with Mint & Lime

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Filtered water (chilled)
  • 1–2 tsp Liquid chlorophyll (follow bottle dosage)
  • 5–6 Fresh mint leaves, slapped to release oils
  • 1/2 Fresh lime, sliced or juiced
  • Handful of ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: Fill a large glass or carafe with chilled filtered water.
  2. Add the "Green": Drip the liquid chlorophyll into the water. Watch it swirl for a beautiful "forest" effect, then stir gently.
  3. Infuse: Add the lime slices and the mint leaves. To get the most flavour out of the mint, place the leaves in your palm and "clap" or slap them once before dropping them in.
  4. Chill: Add ice and let the mixture sit for 2–3 minutes to allow the flavours to meld. Stir once more before serving.

Tips for Success (Diabetes Prevention & Management)

Integrating chlorophyll water into your daily routine can significantly aid in diabetes prevention and management. The primary benefit lies in magnesium, which sits at the centre of the chlorophyll molecule.3 Magnesium is a critical mineral for over 300 biochemical reactions, including the regulation of blood glucose and insulin sensitivity.4 Many individuals with type 2 diabetes or insulin resistance are magnesium deficient; replenishing this mineral helps the body move sugar out of the bloodstream and into the cells more efficiently.

Furthermore, this drink serves as a zero-calorie, zero-sugar alternative to sodas or fruit juices. By replacing sugary beverages with infused water, you prevent the rapid insulin spikes that lead to metabolic fatigue and weight gain. The addition of lime provides Vitamin C and a low-glycemic zest that stimulates digestion, while mint can help soothe the digestive tract and reduce sugar cravings. To stay as healthy as possible, always choose a liquid chlorophyll supplement that is "unflavoured" or "mint-flavoured" to avoid hidden artificial sweeteners or corn syrups.
